Job Title: Evaluation Director – Pediatric Psychologist
Location: Children’s Research Triangle, Chicago, Illinois
Position Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000

About Us

Our Client, the Children’s Research Triangle is a nonprofit that supports children and families affected by prenatal substance exposure and trauma. Their evaluation program provides comprehensive developmental and psychological assessment services, in close collaboration with a pediatrician, to inform children’s treatment, educational plans, and care plans. They are in search of a licensed psychologist to lead their Evaluation Team. This role blends clinical assessment with program oversight, supervision, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Position Summary

The Evaluation Director provides leadership and oversight of CRT’s evaluation services to ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. This role supervises and supports a multidisciplinary team, manages contracts and operations, maintains quality assurance processes, and contributes to agency-wide leadership. The Evaluation Director also provides direct clinical services, supervises trainees, and fosters community, as well as referral partnerships, to advance CRT’s mission and financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct care: Conduct psychological evaluations and maintain a small therapy caseload; provide diagnoses, recommendations, and comprehensive reports; consult with caregivers, caseworkers, other collateral sources, and agency staff; ensure timely and accurate documentation.
  2.  Provide program leadership and quality assurance: Oversee evaluation services to ensure ethical, contract-compliant, evidence-based care; develop and maintain procedures, templates, and QA/QI processes.
  3. Manage operations and contracts: Manage referral pipelines, service delivery, and compliance with foster care, post-adoption, and insurance contracts; prepare for audits; evaluate new contract opportunities.
  4. Provide financial oversight: Monitor evaluation program income; reconcile billing with administrative staff; ensure financial sustainability through accurate billing, collections, and allocation of free/low-cost evaluations.
  5.  Provide supervision and maintain a positive team culture: Recruit, hire, and supervise evaluation staff and trainees; provide reflective supervision to licensed clinicians; provide clinical and administrative supervision to unlicensed clinicians; run team meetings and consultations; foster a supportive, reflective team culture.
  6.  Participate in agency leadership: Serve on the Leadership Team; contribute to strategic planning and development of agency policies/procedures; represent the Evaluation program internally and externally; support training, research, and grant initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology or related field with child/adolescent specialization.
  • Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Illinois. • Minimum of 5 years assessment experience, preferably with child welfare populations.
  • Supervisory/management experience preferred, preferably with a multidisciplinary team
  • Eligible to pass DCFS background clearance.
