Event Captain

Description

Cragun's Resort on beautiful Gull Lake is looking for an organized, personable, and enthusiastic Event Captain to join our growing Food and Beverage team!

Job Purpose

The purpose of the position of Banquets and Event Captain is, but not limited to, overseeing the set up and service aspects of events at Cragun’s Resort and or Legacy banquet spaces. The position will handle and delegate set-up and service of events where there is a food and beverage aspect, and work with the department manager and sales team to take care of the customer in a timely, courteous, efficient, and customized manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists Banquet and Events Manager with daily supervision of service staff and other points of food service
• Ensures smooth and timely set up and tear down of event spaces
• Assigns set up staff to designated sections
• Assists service staff during mealtime as needed, working the floor during service and coaching team members
• Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices
• Assist with monitoring inventory, stock the department with all needed equipment and supplies

Requirements

  Job Requirements: 

• Previous dining room experience, showing a progressive advancement in responsibilities
• Strong leadership and motivational skills
• Requires the ability to multitask and complete tasks in a timely, accurate manner
• Must be extremely organized, personable, and enthusiastic
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Must be at least 18 years of age
