GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Manager, Special Events and Community Giving is responsible for all Foundation events including planning, execution, and follow-up. In this role, he/she collaborates with colleagues as well as administrative and volunteer leadership so that events are aligned with Foundation goals and mission. He/she will also manage all aspects of fundraising programs associated with donors in the under $1000 range. This person reports to the Director of Development.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILIES:
Manages Direct Mail Program for $1000- donors and prospects including the creation of appeal and acknowledgement letters, materials and program reports.
Manages and monitors web-based fundraising initiatives to maximize online sources of funds for nonevent giving programs.
Manages the production of all materials and website/social media to promote special events.
Conceives, coordinates, and oversees from inception to completion all aspects of the Foundation’s fundraising events. Responsible for raising funds to meet all budgeted event goals.
Works closely and collaborates with the appropriate colleagues, officers, administration and volunteers to help create stellar fundraising and cultivation events that will support myriad programs and initiatives for the Foundation.
Designs events and experiences that maximize outreach to current donors and gain new donors for event participation.
Leverages, develops and evolves current philanthropic initiatives with a focus on sponsorships and management of high-level volunteers.
Manages the Foundation’s Caduceus Society program.
Manages all follow up with potential event attendees and sponsors to assure event success.
Manages the Foundation’s Community Fundraising Program.
Supervises the Coordinator, Special Events and Community Giving.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree required.
Five years’ progressively responsible experience as a development professional with demonstrated project and event management skills.
Strong, demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer skills and Raiser’s Edge experience
