Event Security Officer

Citadel Security USA is seeking dependable and professional Event Security Officers to provide security support during a multi-day event in Sedalia, MO. This temporary assignment focuses on access control, guest screening, and maintaining a safe environment for attendees, staff, vendors, and event personnel.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced public setting, have strong customer service skills, and can remain alert while enforcing event security procedures with professionalism and respect.

Position Details

• Location: Sedalia, MO 65302
• Pay: $18.00 per hour
• Schedule: August 13 - August 23 | 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Access Control & Entry Screening

• Control access points throughout the event venue.
• Verify admission credentials, passes, and authorized access.
• Conduct handheld wand screenings and inspections for prohibited items.
• Follow established screening procedures while treating all guests respectfully.
• Restrict unauthorized entry into designated event areas.

Safety & Security

• Maintain a highly visible security presence during event operations.
• Observe for suspicious behavior, safety concerns, or policy violations.
• Assist in maintaining orderly entry lines and crowd movement.
• Respond appropriately to security concerns and notify supervisors of incidents.
• Support emergency response procedures when required.

Customer Service

• Welcome guests with a courteous and professional attitude.
• Provide directions and general event information when appropriate.
• Communicate clearly with attendees, vendors, and event staff.
• Resolve minor issues through calm communication and professional de-escalation techniques.

Documentation & Communication

• Complete accurate incident reports when necessary.
• Report prohibited items, disturbances, or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain communication with supervisors and fellow security personnel throughout the shift.
• Follow all site-specific post orders and company procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work the full event schedule from August 13 through August 23.
• Strong observation and communication skills.
• Professional appearance and reliable attendance.
• Ability to remain standing and walking for extended periods.
• Ability to interact professionally with large groups of people.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous event security, customer service, or guest services experience.
• Experience conducting access control or security screenings.
• Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience working at fairs, festivals, concerts, sporting events, or public gatherings.

Work Environment

• Outdoor event venue with large public attendance.
• Frequent standing, walking, and monitoring entry points.
• Fast-paced environment requires continuous situational awareness.
