Job Description - Event Services Coordinator

Join Our Team as an Event Services Coordinator!

Are you a master of multitasking, a logistics pro, and someone who thrives on making every detail count? The Classic Center is looking for an Event Services Coordinator to join our dynamic Operations team. If you're passionate about live events, hospitality, and creating seamless experiences for clients and guests, this role is for you!

About the Role:
Reporting to the Director of Event Services, the Event Services Coordinator plays a key role in keeping our Operations Department running smoothly. From coordinating trade show logistics and managing signage to assisting with event outlines and supporting our Event Planners, no two days are ever the same. You’ll also help keep our files, schedules, and communications sharp and organized—and yes, we’ll count on your creativity for building signage and keeping everyone in the loop.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide administrative and clerical support across the Operations Department.

  • Greet and assist clients and guests with a warm, professional attitude.

  • Coordinate event logistics including service orders, event outlines, and exhibitor needs.

  • Communicate with various internal departments and ensure event information flows accurately and efficiently.

  • Manage internal documentation, signage, meeting notes, vendor orders, and schedule updates.

  • Collaborate with the General Manager of the Convention Center on trade show services, business services, budgeting, and material handling.

  • Keep our event database, schedules, and departmental files accurate and up-to-date.

  • Support the Event Attendants team by creating schedules and providing clear, timely direction.

What We're Looking For:

  • At least 1 year of experience in event coordination at a multipurpose venue, or 2 years in a related role.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree in hospitality, business, or event management is a plus.

  • A knack for problem-solving and clear communication (written and verbal).

  • Friendly, professional demeanor and strong customer service instincts.

  • Bonus points if you’ve worked with floor plans or event management systems before.

Why Join The Classic Center?
We’re more than just a venue—we’re a cornerstone of community life in Athens. We celebrate diverse talents and perspectives and believe a fun, collaborative environment leads to exceptional results. You’ll be surrounded by a passionate team that values your input and supports your growth.

If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into the behind-the-scenes magic that makes events unforgettable, we want to meet you!
