Fairmont El San Juan Hotel Event Services Manager is responsible for coordinating and supervising assigned group business after it is booked by the sales department, and through completion of the event or function, while maintaining profitable operations and high quality products and service levels.  He/she is expected to market ideas to promote business; maintain revenue and payroll budgets; and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high. The Event Services Manager is also responsible for acting as a liaison between client and operating departments to ensure a successful meeting and to generate repeat business.

EDUCATION & SKILLS

• Two (2) year or four (4) year college degree preferred.
• Requires a minimum of two-year experience at supervisory level in guest contact areas of the hospitality industry.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Previous experience in event planning preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English and Spanish language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, proposals, general correspondence and similar written materials.

EXPERIENCE

• At least 3 years of progressive experience in hotel sales, event services, catering or a related field required.
• At least ten years in field banquet/catering preferred.
• Hospitality experience required.
