Job Description - Events & Field Marketing Lead

We believe general-purpose, generally-intelligent robots will be built in our lifetimes. Robots will work in our factories, move our goods, walk on our streets and eventually be in our homes. To build that future, research and deployment must work in lockstep: real-world operation must make the technology better and better technology must make deployment easier. We're looking for the thinkers, builders, and researchers who want to be part of that loop.

As an AI robotics company that deploys its inventions directly into the facilities that need them, on state-of-the-art hardware, every line of code written at Tutor has a direct impact on the global, physical economy.

Our Culture

We believe that something truly special can happen when talented, motivated people work together; at Tutor, every member of our team is empowered to have real impact in everything that they do. We’re characterized by both technical excellence and next-level collaboration and respect.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Events & Field Sales Lead to own one of Tutor's most important GTM functions - driving strategy, planning, and execution for our events and field sales program while delivering exceptional customer experiences and measurable pipeline growth.

As the Events & Field Sales Manager, you will own Tutor's trade show and field event strategy from end to end. You will be responsible for planning and executing approximately 20–25 industry trade shows annually (roughly two per month), where Tutor showcases live AI-powered robotic demonstrations to prospective enterprise customers.

This role is approximately 50% strategic planning and 50% execution, requiring someone who can think like a marketer, operate like a project manager, and execute with exceptional attention to detail.

You'll work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Solutions Engineering, Operations, and Executive Leadership to ensure every event and regional field sales initiative generates meaningful customer engagement and measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

Event Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and manage Tutor's annual trade show and field marketing strategy.

  • Evaluate and prioritize industry events based on target industries, ICP, pipeline opportunity, and expected ROI.

  • Own the event calendar, budgets, timelines, and execution plans.

  • Establish clear success metrics for every event including meetings, pipeline, opportunities, and revenue influenced.

Event Execution

  • Own end-to-end execution of approximately 20–25 trade shows annually.

  • Coordinate booth logistics, robot transportation, shipping, setup, teardown, vendors, and on-site operations.

  • Manage all event logistics while ensuring a world-class customer experience.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact before, during, and after each event.

Sales & Field Marketing

  • Partner with Sales to maximize pre-show outreach, meeting generation, and customer engagement.

  • Coordinate booth staffing, executive meetings, customer dinners, and networking events.

  • Ensure all event leads are captured, routed, and followed up on effectively.

  • Develop repeatable event playbooks and best practices that improve event performance over time.

Regional Field Programs

  • Partner with Tutor's remote Sales Pods to develop localized field marketing initiatives in key regions (e.g. Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles).

  • Plan and execute regional customer events, executive dinners, networking events, site visits, and other field marketing programs outside of major trade shows.

  • Collaborate with Sales to identify strategic accounts and develop targeted field engagement plans that support pipeline generation and account expansion.

  • Develop repeatable regional event playbooks that can be scaled across markets as Tutor grows.

Vendor & Budget Management

  • Manage relationships with event organizers, contractors, shipping providers, booth vendors, and external partners.

  • Negotiate contracts and manage event budgets.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency while reducing event costs.

Reporting & Optimization

  • Track event ROI including meetings booked, pipeline created, opportunities generated, and closed revenue.

  • Present post-event performance reviews and recommendations.

  • Continuously improve Tutor's field marketing strategy through data and customer feedback.

Qualifications

  • 4–6+ years of experience in B2B events, field marketing, trade show management, or experiential marketing.

  • Proven experience planning and executing multiple large-scale trade shows or customer events annually.

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience managing vendors, budgets, logistics, and event operations from planning through execution.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Executive Leadership.

  • Data-driven mindset with experience measuring event ROI and business impact.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 30–40%.

Preferred Experience

Experience supporting enterprise B2B organizations in one or more of the following industries:

  • Robotics & Automation

  • Manufacturing

  • Supply Chain & Logistics

  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)

  • Food & Beverage

  • Cosmetics & Beauty

What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you will:

  • Successfully execute 20–25 industry trade shows with exceptional operational excellence.

  • Build a scalable event operating model and repeatable playbooks.

  • Launch regional field marketing programs that support Tutor's remote Sales Pods and strengthen customer engagement in key markets.

  • Increase qualified meetings, pipeline generation, and ROI across both trade shows and regional field marketing initiatives.

  • Become the trusted owner of one of Tutor's most important customer acquisition channels.

  • Partner closely with Sales and Marketing to ensure every event contributes meaningfully to Tutor's growth.
