Events Manager 
 
Join the leadership team at our exciting entertainment complex! THE BIG CHILL is a family-friendly venue located on scenic Hwy 30A, nestled between Alys Beach and Seaside. Our property hosts 6 restaurants, 2 bars, retail shops, an arcade, an amphitheater for live music, and a 25’ LED Jumbotron for sports & movies. We provide a fun and lively gathering spot for families and friends to enjoy good food & positive vibes! 
 



Position Mission 


To provide direction and support for the venue’s recurring and special events.  While the primary focus of the role is the planning and execution of events, the daily duties include contributing to the overall success of the property’s operations. 



Reports To 


Assistant Director of Operations 



Requirements 



  • 2+ years of experience in event management or coordination 

  • Food & beverage or catering management experience preferred 

  • Open availability to include days, nights, weekends & holidays  

  • 40+ hours per week dependent upon business & event demands 


Key Responsibilities 



Events & Catering 



  • Plan, book and execute all aspects of The Big Chill’s entertainment, special events & catering events 

  • Continually innovate to extend the company’s reach and grow the catering business 

  • Respond to website inquiries for information on catering, events and entertainment bookings 

  • Ensure that events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with coworkers, and ensuring accuracy of all event details 

  • Communicate event information to all stakeholders including team members, tenants, management and guests across multiple platforms 

  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs 


Marketing & Social Media 



  • Collaborate with the leadership team on social media strategy & content 

  • Maintain and contribute to company’s database of digital assets 

  • Production and distribution of print & digital marketing materials (calendars, event flyers & posters) 

  • Aid in the execution of the company’s marketing strategy, driving collaboration with stakeholders and leveraging efficient internal processes 

  • Manage digital calendar – update & edit company’s website calendar, submit all events to community websites 


Key Skills 



  • Organization - detail oriented, able to balance multiple projects while adhering to deadlines and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner. 

  • Communication – able to effectively communicate (verbally, in person & digitally) with guests, vendors & team members at all levels of the organization while maintaining a calm and positive demeanor. 

  • Technical – possess technical / software skills to include general office equipment, social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok), Microsoft Office, basic audiovisual equipment and POS systems. Graphic design & Canva skills are a plus.

Compensation 


Salary range 45-55k/year dependent upon experience 



Compensation: $50,000.00 per year
