EVS Coordinator

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking a Coordinator to join our Environmental Services Department!

This position is responsible for the cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting of all areas of the medical center. Must maintain and update knowledge of all equipment and supplies used in the housekeeping and laundry process. Must maintain knowledge of department and medical center policies and procedures. In addition to performing all the duties of a housekeeping and laundry technician, this position will have several additional responsibilities as directed by the EVS Manager. Provides training and orientation for new EVS housekeeping technicians, oversees the weekly EVS surgery schedule, and provides support to departments as needed when volumes are high. This Coordinator will be a liaison between all departmental Leads, EVS Supervisor, and EVS Manager and coordinate the job flow to fit the needs.  Collaborate with EVS Manager on deep cleaning tasks and oversee the completion and charting of it.

Major Job Duties & Responsibilities

Employee completes all assigned duties with thoroughness and accuracy. 
Assignments are completed in a timely and professional manner, while paying attention to detail.
Adapts to changing rules and regulations in the environmental services department, understanding and using current technology as related to the position.
Maintains utility and janitor closet areas in a clean and orderly manner.
Cleans and restocks supplies of housekeeping cart at the end of each shift.
Keeps all EVS equipment cleaned, stored properly and reports all equipment failures or problems appropriately.
Uses chemicals appropriately.
Refills all necessary supplies and dispensers as required.
Wears personal protective equipment as required.
Follows department dress code policy.
Completes the annual HealthStream education courses on time.
Utilizes attendance systems per organizational and departmental guidelines and maintains prompt and regular attendance.
Provide orientation/training to new employees as directed by Manager.
Perform quality checks for the department as directed by Manager.

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

Knowledge of commercial cleaners and equipment preferred.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions, including basic computer use.
Current Montana state driver’s license.

Schedule

Primarily (8) hour shifts, Monday through Friday. Days worked and shift times are subject to change at the request of the manager.

Education Requirements

High School Education or equivalent.

Experience

Previous medical center housekeeping experience required, including knowledge of infection control.

Prior surgery housekeeping experience preferred.
