EVS Healthcare Coordinator

Join our team!  Galloway Ridge is an upscale continuing care retirement community located between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro in Chatham County, NC.  Under the direction of the EVS Manager, the EVS Coordinator is responsible for leading, supporting, and performing work efforts with EVS staff assigned to work in the Arbor Nursing Facility, Laundry Facility, and WellPlex Areas (DCFL Fitness center, Duke Primary Clinic, and Outpatient Therapy) to ensure staff receives necessary training and work assignments, schedules and coordinates daily staffing needs, orders and stocks necessary cleaning and paper supplies, communicates constantly with managers, supervisors and staff to meet cleanliness standards and linen needs. This includes performing housekeeping tasks, project work, and related equipment repairs. 

This position works in conjunction with the other EVS Coordinators, works with the Arbor leadership team in accomplishing Arbor objectives, DCFL/Duke Primary Care staff, and/or the GR leadership team in accomplishing general GR objectives. 

The EVS coordinator may be required to be on call based on a rotation schedule which includes being available to respond to emergency issues or needs at any hour of the day and night for an entire week (Monday to Sunday), including weekend coverage. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

•  General housekeeping services and related project work. 
• Scheduling and coordinating staff. May include weekend and holiday work coverage. 
• Ensures that safety policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements, are followed and necessary safety training, equipment and materials are maintained timely and in good working order.
• Monitors equipment for general operating condition and maintenance and/or when repairs are necessary. 
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities Services. All other duties assigned include, but not limited to, enhancing the Resident Experience. 

Requirements

• At least 2 years housekeeping related experience is preferred. Some on-the-job training will be provided. 
• Knowledge and experience with healthcare housekeeping practices and regulatory requirements preferred. 
• Must have a thorough knowledge of general housekeeping practices including floor-care equipment, cleaning solutions and solution mixing procedures. 
• Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish preferred. 
• Must be able to follow written or oral instructions. 
• Must have effective written and verbal communication skills and be able to work collaboratively within a diverse work group. ·
• Must be in good mental and physical condition and able and willing to perform duties inside and outside the facility when necessary. 
• Must be able to move heavy objects. 
• Must enjoy working with and have the ability to cooperate with other employees and leadership staff. 
• Must be willing and eager to work with and provide assistance to the residents of the facility. 
• Must have a genuine interest in geriatric care and must believe in and uphold the philosophy of the facility.
