DESCRIPTION:


ABSI Aerospace & Defense is an innovative small business based in Southern Maryland near Naval Air Station Patuxent River. Operating in the quickly evolving areas of test and evaluation, unmanned/manned systems integration, LVC simulations and training, training, and autonomous systems. ABSI is growing rapidly. ABSI is seeking highly motivated individuals to support US Air Force Test Pilot School as it integrates modern test and evaluation techniques and procedures into its existing curriculum. The USAF Test Pilot School provides a year in-residence course that is offered two times a year with dedicated facilities onboard Edwards AFB.  The students come primarily from the USAF and USSF, but include students form other DoD services as well as foreign partners.  Students are pilots, weapons system operators, engineers and space operators.



ABSI supports these classes with a mixture of on-site personnel, part time subject matter experts, and virtual learning. To support this effort, The Executive Assistant will provide direct administrative support to the Executive Officer of the United States Air Force Test Pilot School to include, but not limited to, executive scheduling, personnel-related and general administrative tasks.  This position will be primarily on-site with limited telework.


 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


The Executive Assistant will be responsible for:



  • Provide general administrative support to the TPS executive officer

  • Provide support to TPS personnel specialist for personnel-related administrative tasks

  • Work directly with TPS executive officer and personnel specialist for administrative tasks.

  • General Clerical Duties To Include But Not Limited To

    • Photocopying

    • Scanning

    • Coordination and scheduling of meetings (Teams, Zoom) internally but also with External customers and suppliers

    • Coordinates staff meetings, teleconferences and site visits

    • Screens calls and forwards messages

    • Maintain filing system

    • Places requests and coordinates orders for office supplies, catering, facilities and IT support

    • Protects and maintains confidentiality

    • May act as coordinator of special projects, following up on pending details, coordinating activities, and ensuring deadlines are met

    • Answer questions relating to executive office operations and established policies and procedures



  • Performing other duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Associate’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience performing the essential functions

    • An additional 2 years of experience may be substituted for an Associate’s degree



  • Must be organized and detail oriented

  • Ability to represent the company and customer positively and professionally

  • Ability to analyze, manage, multitask, motivate, plan, organize, and execute day to day operations and work under deadlines

  • Demonstrated proficiency with written and verbal communications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based collaborative resources such as SharePoint and Microsoft Teams

  • Active security clearance highly desired
