The Executive Director, CIS Business Office position at the company, an esteemed public university, is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing complex IT procurements, IT budget management, and IT vendor contract management. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team and be tasked with optimizing costs, ensuring IT vendor performance, and contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the IT function. This includes collaborating with IT leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy, recommending effective procurement strategies, and managing IT-related contracts and agreements in partnership with legal and procurement offices.Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years of related experience, with a preference for those with 10+ years of progressive experience in IT procurement and vendor management in the public sector. Strong knowledge of IT contracts, licensing, legal considerations, NYC and NYS IT procurement processes, and DASNY capital processes is essential. The role requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, as well as strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. The Executive Director will also be expected to cultivate and manage relationships with key IT vendors, conduct market analyses, and actively participate in the University IT Steering committee and CIO counsel meetings.
