About the Role The Executive Director at the Data Service Center is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all operations. This includes strategic oversight, financial management, personnel management, and product leadership. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Operations Council to set organizational priorities, ensure project timelines are met, and maintain a deep understanding of the K-12 education landscape to anticipate future needs. Financially, the Executive Director will prepare and manage the annual budget, demonstrate fiscal responsibility, and plan for the technology needs of the organization. In terms of personnel, the role involves fostering a supportive organizational culture, supervising staff, and leading the hiring process. Additionally, the Executive Director will maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Center's products, work with development and support teams to define requirements, and provide training and support as needed.Candidates for the Executive Director position should possess strong leadership, communication, project management, time management, and organizational skills. The role requires the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, quickly learn new data systems, and experience with data reporting tools. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but a minimum of 5 years' experience in project management, application training and support, or a similar field is accepted in lieu of a degree. Knowledge of data systems used in the education community and experience with Agile project management are also preferred. The ideal candidate will have the strategic foresight to determine the long-term impact of decisions and the ability to foster a creative, collaborative, and supportive work environment.
