Location: Hattie Mae White \n\nDepartment: Curriculum PD - Math/Science/RLA \n\nArea:District Wide \n\nContract Months:12 \n\nSalary Range: $170,000.00 \u2013 $195,000.00 \n\nAcademic Year: 26-27 \n\n## JOB SUMMARY\n\nLeads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of K-8 literacy and early childhood instructional programs to ensure equitable student outcomes and alignment with district academic priorities.\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nList most important duties first \n1\\. Leads development and execution ofdistrict-wide K-8 literacy and early childhood instructional strategy \n2\\. Oversees instructional materials and implementation fidelity across schools \n3\\. Directs professional learning systems to build teacher and leader capacity in foundational instruction \n4\\. Analyzes student performance data to drive continuous improvement and strategic decision-making\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED\n\n5\\. Manages cross-functional collaboration with schools, operations, and assessment teams \n6\\. Develops and manages departmental budgets, resources, and staffperformance \n7\\. Other duties as assigned.\n\n## EDUCATION\n\nMaster\u0027s Degree\n\n## WORK EXPERIENCE\n\n7+ years\n\n## SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION\n\nMicrosoft Office\n\nCertifications/Licensure\n\nEquipment \nOffice equipment (e.g., computer, copier)\n\n## LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nLevel 5 -Directs two or more levels of management in the development, deployment and ongoing management of key initiatives covering multiple major disciplines with direct accountability for results in terms of effectiveness, costs, methods, and employees. Establishes operational objectives and assignments for multiple disciplines/functional areas and possibly departments. Evaluates recommendations of others, deciding on course of action in ambiguous situations, and oversee the deployment of innovative solutions. Collaborates with senior leadership to develop strategies and broad departmental objectives; establishes methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people in the achievement of strategic objectives.\n\n## WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT\n\nWork is highly complex and broad in scope covering several departments/divisions across HISD. Policy, procedures, and precedents are created and approved by this position. Supervision received typically consists of providing periodic coaching, advice, and feedback.\n\n## BUDGET AUTHORITY\n\nParticipates in a group plan and/or budget development.\n\n## PROBLEM SOLVING\n\nGreater latitude and discretion are warranted in making decisions, which affect major areas of HISD and possibly the organization\u0027s public image. The job is constantly expected to apply creative solutions to complex problems and develop new ideas and concepts. Reviews and approves decisions and/or recommendations that may have a significant impact on the entire organization.\n\n## IMPACT OF DECISIONS\n\nDecisions have considerable impact to multiple divisions or the organization causing risks or improvements to relationships, significant efficiencies, or delays in operations, and/or significant financial gains or expenses. Errors are serious and difficult to discover, normally involve decisions not subject to detailed review and will result in excessive costs and/or significant project delays.\n\n## COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS\n\nNegotiate and influence - interpret department strategies and services, resolves conflicts, influences outcomes on matters of significance for the division, conducts final negotiations and coordinates approvals/decision making below the executive level. Interactions are typically with customers and Top Management.\n\n## CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS\n\nLeads others in the resolution of highly sensitive and confidential issues on behalf of the department. Acts as a trusted advisor and becomes involved in the customer\u0027s decision-making process including presenting alternatives and information and applying persuasion and negotiation skills in the resolution of problems.
