About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director, Global Safety Head for Obesity. This pivotal role involves serving as the safety expert for the company's obesity products on a global scale, with accountability for safety strategy and major safety deliverables for each product. The successful candidate will lead the obesity safety teams, manage staff, and ensure resource planning and allocation. As a core member of the Global Patient Safety Leadership team, the Executive Director will support the establishment of a highly effective global safety organization in compliance with worldwide regulations. Responsibilities also include providing safety oversight, strategy, and guidance to various departments, as well as participating in budget and headcount planning.Candidates for this role must have an MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school, at least five years of industry or academic research, and a minimum of six years of managerial experience. A PhD with 15 years of directly related experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have clinical experience, previous product safety experience, and knowledge of clinical trials and drug development. Strong leadership skills, including the ability to manage global and multifunctional teams, are essential. The role requires a deep understanding of international drug safety regulations, global pharmacovigilance, and product safety processes, as well as the ability to influence and present strategies to diverse audiences. The Executive Director will be expected to demonstrate the company's leadership attributes, which include the ability to inspire, accelerate, integrate, and adapt.
