Job Title: Executive Director FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Administration Reports to: Vice President of Operations

Position Summary: In accordance with established company policies and procedures, responsible for all aspects of the facility’s operation to include Resident/Customer and employee relations, management of professional level staff, financial management, safety and quality assurance, facility growth and development, program management, compliance with state and federal law.

General Purpose: General oversight of Department Heads and general operation of the facility on a daily basis.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the facility.

• Ensures that all state and federal requirements as applicable to assisted Living programs are met and maintained.

• Responsible for the financial management of the facility to include but not limited to, assisting in the development of operational budgets, forecasting, FTE management/staffing, capital requirement

• Responsible for implementing facility’s sales and marketing initiatives to ensure occupancy objectives are met.

• Oversee the overall internal and external customer relations to include community relations, resident/family relations, facility growth and development

• Responsible for Human Resource management, coaches and develops management team, provides directions on employee issues.

• Responsible for implementation and management of company policy and standards.

• Ensures appropriate coordination of all components of a resident’s service plan, including transportation and delivery of needed supplies are met.

• Provides or ensures that each resident has access to appropriate medical and psychosocial services.

• Responsible for assistance, development, and implementation of a staffing plan to include but not limited to, orientation and on-going training programs

• Responsible for ensuring appropriate oversight, monitoring, and implementation of each resident’s service plan.

• Responsible for the overall quality of programs, ensuring the facility and all record keeping is in compliance with all state, federal, local regulations.

• Ensures that all services are provided in a manner that respects and enhances the dignity, privacy, and independence of each resident.

• Responsible for development, implementation, and management of facility’s employee retention and appreciation programs.

• Manages the assisted living program, including recruiting, hiring, training and supervising all staff and ensuring that either a criminal history records check or criminal background check is conducted.

• Responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing facility’s recruiting initiatives to include but not limited to establishing relationships with government offices, local businesses, schools, college placements centers, etc.

• Other duties as directed.

Essential Functions, Experience and Skills:

• Must be able to maintain satisfactory attendance as per Policy # 871 and must be able to report for duty as scheduled

• Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in an efficient manner

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to speak and write effectively in English

• Must conform continuing education to adhere to or exceed current state regulations for position as dictated by Department of Social Services (DSS) for VA or COMAR for MD

• Commitment and Adherence to company values and policies and must serve as a role model in this capacity.

• Must be computer literate to include ability to use Microsoft Office including Outlook, internal software programs and other programs as needed.

• College degree or related healthcare administration degree required

• Minimum of 3 years executive administrative/ management experience in senior living or long term care facilities.

• Ability to be flexible and functions independently

• Works under pressure with multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Must have strong organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

• This position must exhibit maturity in judgment.

• Directly supervises facility department heads, but oversees all facility staff.

• High frequency of contact with employees, residents, family members, guests, vendors.

• Requires effective interpersonal skills exhibiting the ability to interact with a professional, caring, and positive attitude and demeanor.

• This position is exposed to highly confidential information and data that disclosed would be contrary to the company’s policies and professional ethics.

• Professionally assists marketing department with community tours, exhibits excellent customer service skills in dealing with prospective residents and their families both in person and on the telephone

Nonessential Skills and Experience:

• Knowledge of Copper Ridge Philosophy of Dementia Care

• Current CPR and First Aid Certification

Reporting to this position: Department Heads and all facility staff

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to frequent contact with residents, family members, staff and vendors in a mostly indoor setting in an assisted living support environment. The noise level in the work environment is minimal to moderate.
