About the Role
The Executive Director of Development & Alumni and the Foundation is a key leadership role with a primary focus on the strategic management of philanthropic campaigns, donor relationships, and alumni engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall leadership and oversight of the Foundation and Alumni Association operations, including the development and implementation of organizational infrastructure to support effective operations. This role involves setting and achieving fundraising goals, managing staff, and working closely with university leadership, the Foundation Chair, and the Alumni Association Chair to advance the institution's philanthropic goals. The Executive Director is also tasked with maintaining integrity and transparency in philanthropic gift and donor record management, as well as ensuring accurate reporting systems to document engagement and fund usage.The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong instinct for connecting the university with the philanthropic needs of benefactors and will approach problem-solving and goal achievement with a proactive, pragmatic, and collaborative mindset. Adept interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of constituents. The role requires the ability to establish and nurture collaborative working relationships at all levels of the university, as well as effective communication skills for presenting ideas and concepts. The Executive Director must also be capable of working effectively with diverse student and staff populations, and be committed to the mission and goals of the university.
