About the Role The Executive Director of HR Operations at the company is a key management role with a focus on overseeing all transactional aspects of the Human Resources function. This includes managing the day-to-day operations of the HR Operations department, ensuring compliance with laws, policies, and collective bargaining agreements, and establishing organizational goals and operational procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, such as onboarding processes, benefits and retirement administration, data management, HRIS systems, and payroll. They will also be expected to develop and implement staff training initiatives, establish work priorities, and work collaboratively with other departments to support strategic initiatives. Strong leadership, management, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.Applicants for the Executive Director of HR Operations role must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least five years of professional experience in human resources operations, including benefits and payroll experience with large HRIS management systems. A Master's degree and experience in higher education or with collective bargaining and unionized employees are preferred. The role requires advanced knowledge of payroll, HR, and benefits laws and regulations, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret policies and agreements. The incumbent should have a proven track record of leadership, strong ethics, and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. The position demands a strategic thinker who can align human resources with organizational goals and recommend and implement policies to support the agency's mission.
