Evaluates current systems and processes to determine best practices, develops and implements system-wide standards for a comprehensive construction management program including: subcontractor and vendor management, project management, equipment procurement, and other applicable construction standards and processes. Provides a combination of strategic and tactical oversight as needed of senior project managers, project managers, project coordinators, mapping department personnel and other key staff to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Implements best practices for construction management, including project scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and codes. Promotes good stewardship by managing costs, budgets, and annual spend. Develops training programs for staff and contractors to ensure knowledge of current codes, regulations, and internal policies. Conducts regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety protocols. Other duties as assigned. Develops and implements systems to monitor project performance against budget authorization, project schedules and established standards. Monitors project progress and performance, identifying and resolving issues to maintain project timelines and budgets. Provides leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Prepares and presents project reports to senior management, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and achievements. Ensures departments maintain effective and appropriate communication and customer service within all sectors of the community including; approval agencies, community boards and with private citizens. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the Office of Design and Construction. Provides executive level oversight and direction to system wide delivery of design and construction services. Promotes good staffing practices by maximizing the utilization of human resources; forecasts and anticipates personnel needs with regard to fluctuations in the projected workload. Builds capabilities within departments by coaching, developing, evaluating and mentoring, department directors, managers, and other team members.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Pay Range:
