Executive Director - Oregon State Board of Architect Examiners (OSBAE)Job Description:
Mission
The mission of the Oregon State Board of Architect Examiners is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public through the registration and regulation of the practice of architecture in Oregon.
About The Oregon State Board of Architect Examiners (OSBAE)
The Oregon State Board of Architect Examiners (OSBAE) is seeking an Executive Director with proven leadership experience and a commitment to the mission of the Board.
OSBAE was created by the Oregon Legislature in 1919 to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public through the registration and regulation of the practice of architecture in Oregon. The Board is composed of seven members (five architects and two public members) appointed by the Governor. The Board determines the standards for registration, which consist of education, examination, and experience. Agency staff provide administrative, investigative, and financial services to the Board and assist applicants with the registration process. See ORS 671.010-671.220 and OAR Chapter 806 for more information.
As a semi-independent state agency, the Board maintains control over personnel, purchasing, contracting, banking, investing, and budgeting. All funding is obtained through agency collected fees and fines and no taxpayer funds are provided. See ORS 182.454-182.472 for more information regarding semi-independent status.
