Executive Director, Sales (Remote-US)

Responsibilities

Octave is seeking an Executive Director, North America Sales to lead a team of sales professionals responsible for driving growth across our Public Safety portfolio. This role will focus on new customer acquisition, expanding existing customer relationships, accurate forecasting, and execution of regional sales strategies.

The Executive Director will work closely with Customer Success, Professional Services, Marketing, and Product teams to advance strategic opportunities, strengthen customer partnerships, and achieve annual revenue objectives. This leader will be hands-on in managing pipeline, coaching sellers, supporting complex opportunities, and ensuring disciplined sales execution across North America.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sales Leadership & Execution
  
  
  
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Account Executives and Sales Directors across North America.
  
  
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability for revenue goals.
  
  
  • Drive disciplined pipeline management, opportunity progression, and forecast accuracy.
  
  
  • Conduct regular business reviews and sales coaching sessions.
  
  
  • Support territory planning and account strategy development.
  
  
  
  


• Revenue Growth
  
  
  
  • Achieve quarterly and annual bookings targets.
  
  
  • Identify and develop opportunities for new business growth and customer expansion.
  
  
  • Partner with Marketing to support lead generation and market awareness activities.
  
  
  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Services teams to identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
  
  
  • Maintain executive involvement in strategic sales pursuits and negotiations.
  
  
  
  


• Customer & Market Engagement
  
  
  
  
  • Build relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders.
  
  
  • Participate in customer meetings, executive briefings, demonstrations, and industry events.
  
  
  • Act as an escalation point for strategic opportunities and high-priority customer situations.
  
  
  • Stay current on market trends, competitive activity, and customer requirements.
  
  
  
  


• Operational Excellence
  
  
  
  
  • Drive CRM adoption and sales process compliance.
  
  
  • Monitor pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and key sales metrics.
  
  
  • Partner with Revenue Operations to improve reporting and sales effectiveness.
  
  
  • Support annual planning, territory alignment, and performance management processes.
  
  
  
  

Education / Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.


• 10+ years of enterprise software, SaaS, or technology sales experience.


• 5+ years leading sales teams.


• Demonstrated success managing complex sales cycles and achieving revenue targets.


• Experience building pipeline and managing strategic customer relationships.


• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.


• Ability to travel as needed throughout North America.

Preferred

• Experience within Public Safety, GovTech, CAD, RMS, Emergency Communications, or related industries.


• Experience selling SaaS and cloud-based solutions.


• Experience working with municipal, county, provincial, state, or federal agencies.


• Experience managing geographically dispersed sales teams.
