Job Description - Executive Kitchen Manager/ Chef de Cuisine



This location, along with S&L Hospitality, is currently seeking an Executive Kitchen Manager/ Chef de Cuisine to join our team! This role is ideal for a hands-on, creative professional with a strong background in food & beverage leadership and a desire to deliver memorable dining experiences. 


 


At Spencer’s Tavern and The Colonial Inn, you’ll be part of a historic and welcoming environment where creativity, collaboration, and community come together. We are proud to deliver excellent service and cuisine to both locals and visitors, and we’re looking for a chef who will help us elevate our dining program 


 


Some responsibilities may include but are not limited to:




  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency.




  • Collaborate with ownership and management on menu development, seasonal specials, and execution.




  • Lead, train, and schedule a small but dedicated kitchen team.




  • Uphold and enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards.




  • Manage ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective operations.




  • Maintain high standards of presentation, taste, and service.




  • Foster open communication and teamwork within both the kitchen and front-of-house teams.




 


Qualifications may include: 




  • Previous F&B leadership experience, preferably in a culinary or heart-of-house leadership role.




  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, menu planning, and cost controls.




  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and develop a team.




  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.




  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands.




  • A passion for hospitality, creativity, and delivering high-quality guest experiences.
