Job Description - Executive Meeting Manager



We are looking to add an Executive Meeting Manager to our team. This is a great opportunity to be a part of an organization that believes our team members are our most important resource and therefore take great pride in selecting individuals that help us to achieve our resort's mission.


BASIC PURPOSE:To represent the sales department for Opal Collection properties in Clearwater as the initial communication link between the customer and the sales department. The individual will be responsible to sell conference space, lodging, catering services and themed venues to groups within the designated parameters of the position. Develop client relationships for new business, continued repeat business and referral business in order to generate business for the Opal Collection properties in Clearwater.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Profile all calls; take total interest in the call soliciting all pertinent information in order to be able to send the caller a proposal.Qualify the account then forward it on to the sales personal responsible for the market.The Executive Meeting Manager (EMM) will be the one stop shop person for the client for all inquiries that are within the parameter of 10 to 20 sleeping rooms.There will be no geographical boundaries on the Executive Meeting Manager’s accounts.The Executive Meeting Manager will complete all booking forms, BEO’s and service the account while they are on property.The Executive Meeting Manager will be responsible to profile the complete account, prospecting for large meetings and additional meetings. The EMM would then turn over the account to the appropriate sales manager for solicitations.Responsible for establishing good working relationships with catering, conference services and banquet teams.


Knowledge and Skills:Education: Four year college degree or commensurate work experience.


Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in the conference sales or services in the hotel / resort industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Good understanding of hotel/resort front office, reservations, and F&B operations. Must have a working knowledge of computer operations including personal computers, internet and spreadsheet application.


Travel required: Limited travel required.


Hours Required: Primarily daytime hours; some evenings; weekends and holidays required. Average of 48 hours over a 5-day period.


Physical Job Requirements: Must be able lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds which may including occasionally performing tasks such as moving tables, chairs, boxes and or amenities. Must be able to bend and knee which may include tasks such as Taping down cords, skirting table’s general cleanliness in function areas. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours a day. Maybe overseeing outdoor events in the Florida summer sun and must be able to able and willing to endure abnormal temperature exposures.
