Job Summary
The candidate should have experience with patient assessment, exercise prescription, ECG telemetry monitoring, patient education and supervision of cardiac patients. Excellent communication and social skills are essential. A Baccalaureate Degree in Exercise Science with ACSM Exercise Specialist Certification or a Master's degree with ACSM certification as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist is preferred. Position requires a current BLS certification and attainment of ACLS certification.
Essential Functions
- Conduct new patient tours and interviews
- Prepare initial exercise prescriptions
- Conduct new patient orientations
- Upgrade exercise prescriptions on a weekly basis
- Supervision of phase II exercise classes
- Prepare summary reports for all Phase II patients at the end of their 10th week of program participation.
- Monitor graduation dates and conduct graduation consultations at 30th session
- In consultation with program director, prepare medical necessity reports in response to insurance carrier inquiries
- Prepare medical alert documentation for referring physicians
- On a regular basis, check for and reorder necessary exercise program supplies
- Maintain daily quality control for all exercise telemetry equipment
- Maintain adequate quantities for all program forms
- Prepare maintenance exercise program for new phase II graduates
- Prepare home exercise programs with associated approval of primary MD
- Daily check of all emergency medical equipment & crash cart
- Be familiar with code 04 procedures and your special responsibilities
- Participate in weekly summary conference meetings with program director
- Provide as needed ECG monitoring & documentation of exercise classes
- Conduct patient education lectures
- Performs other duties as requested by Director/VP, Outpatient Services

Qualifications
- BS Required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; high level of enthusiasm and dedication to all members.
- Ability to listen, offer support, encouragement and empathy when necessary to all members but specifically to those members who are chronically ill and could be experiencing living challenges.
- Must be physically capable of leading slightly vigorous exercise programs and be able to assist participants on/off exercise equipment; adjust body position settings on exercise equipment; set up /breakdown chairs; occasional lifting/moving exercise equipment up to 50 pounds and program materials.
- Physical and manual dexterity required.
- A lot of stopping, bending, agile movement, bending, twisting, and hand dexterity
