Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)

Preferred Search Group is partnering with a top-rated private practice in Montgomery, OH to find an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. This practice goes above and beyond in patient care and providing their patients with the best experience. Candidates must have their EFDA certification. Pay for this position is $38-48/hour. Monday - Wednesday: 7a-4:30p

Thursday: 6:45a-2p

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all equipment is ready for use.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
• Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately in the system.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as needed.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
• Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure smooth patient flow and office operations.
• Keep accurate records of treatments performed and assist with inventory management of dental supplies.

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
• EFDA Certification
• Familiarity with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required for managing multiple tasks effectively.
