Position Summary:
The Expediter plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of materials and supplies required for our operations. This individual will work closely with the production team to expedite orders to meet production and project timelines.
General Responsibilities:
• Purchase Order Management: Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness of order details, including quantities, specifications, and delivery dates.
• Expedite Orders: Monitor the status of open purchase orders and expedite shipments as necessary to meet production schedules or project deadlines. Monitor standard job orders for timely completion of work to be done by shop.
• Inventory Control: Assist in managing inventory levels by tracking stock levels and ensuring timely reorders of critical items.
• Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure received materials meet quality standards and report any discrepancies or issues promptly.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of job orders, receipts, and delivery confirmations.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in procurement, manufacturing, purchasing, or supply chain management.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain best practices.
• Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
- Previous experience in expediting orders in a manufacturing or related environment.
