Experienced Civil Technician

Job Summary: STG Communications is a growing Communications Contractor that is searching for Experienced Civil Technicians. The ideal candidate will be safety focused, along with being a self-motivated individual with strong work ethics. The individual will be expected to assist the Telecom Civil Foreman in all aspects of planning, prepping and executing projects for building new sites. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, connect and test underground and above ground grounding systems
• Moderate flat-work concrete forming, pouring and finishing
• Carpentry and miscellaneous trade skills
• Landscaping, grading and fencing, as necessary
• Load/unload trucks, haul and hoist materials
• Operate various hand and power tools
• Maintain a safe job site
• Assist team on completing tasks
• Light equipment (mini excavator, skid loader)
• Stand for long period of time
• Ability to lift 100 pounds
• Ability to climb ladders
• Travel 50% of the time (required)
• Work in all-weather elements

Qualifications:

• 1 year of civil experience in the Telecom industry
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in civil construction or telecommunications is preferred.
• Background and MVR check required.
• Ability to pass a drug test and pre-employment physical.
• Telecom or construction experience is preferred; on-the-job training is available as needed.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; CDL is preferred.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel as required and work weekends when necessary.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills at all levels and the ability to follow directions.
• Excellent teamwork abilities.
• A willingness to travel extensively and work weekends as required.
