Location: This is a fully on-site role, five days per week, in the Memorial area of Houston, TX — a professional, accessible corridor with free parking provided. This is a high-performing team that works best together in person, and the culture reflects it.

Note: Candidates must have 10+ years of business litigation paralegal experience in Texas state and federal courts. This is a senior-level role requiring demonstrated expertise in eFiling, e-discovery platforms, calendar and deadline management, and trial preparation. General litigation experience without a business litigation focus may not meet the qualifications for this position.

Job Description

• Serve as the primary litigation paralegal on complex business litigation matters in Texas state and federal courts, managing cases with a high degree of ownership and autonomy
• Docket and eFile in both federal and state courts, ensuring all filings are accurate, timely, and procedurally compliant
• Manage case calendars and litigation deadlines end-to-end — calculating, calendaring, and proactively alerting attorneys to upcoming court and internal deadlines
• Conduct substantive document review and manage e-discovery workflows using platforms such as Relativity, DISCO, and Everlaw
• Draft litigation documents including discovery shells, subpoenas, deposition notices, affidavits, privilege logs, and document production logs for both state and federal matters
• Assist with briefs and memoranda, including building tables of authorities and tables of contents
• Prepare pre-trial filings including trial exhibit lists, witness lists, and deposition excerpt designations in both state and federal court
• Operate Trial Director during live trials — upload exhibits and video depositions, clip video, and run the program in the courtroom
• Assist attorneys at trial, handling exhibits and managing courtroom setup logistics
• Schedule hearings and depositions, coordinating directly with court personnel, opposing counsel, and court reporters
• Bates number, redact, and organize legal documents; create demonstrative exhibits
• Coordinate service of process and gather and arrange evidence and supporting documentation for attorneys
• Communicate professionally with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, court personnel, and outside vendors
• Track open matter status and assignment progress across an active, multi-case docket
• Handle confidential and time-sensitive materials with precision and discretion
• Adapt to periodic after-hours demands when trial schedules or deadlines require it

Qualifications

• 10+ years of business litigation paralegal experience in Texas state and federal courts — required
• Associate's or bachelor's degree; paralegal certification or equivalent
• Proficiency with e-discovery platforms including Relativity, DISCO, and/or Everlaw
• Experience operating Trial Director in a live trial setting strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro, and document management systems; Centerbase and NetDocuments experience preferred
• Strong working knowledge of Texas state and federal court procedures, eFiling systems, and litigation deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to draft litigation documents, manage complex calendars, and support trial preparation independently
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a high-volume docket in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative team player who also thrives working independently with minimal oversight
