Kindred Fare - A Spirited Cookery is a full-service, high volume restaurant located in the heart of the Finger Lakes with a focus on scratch cookery using seasonal & local ingredients. On Monday nights our culinary team works together to build a three-course themed prix fixe, something our community looks forward to each week. The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient dish station while overseeing the overall cleanliness of the kitchen. In addition to dishwashing duties, this role helps create and uphold a kitchen-wide cleanliness and sanitation program—including daily, weekly, and deep-cleaning routines. The Lead Dishwasher supports a smooth flow of service and plays a critical role in upholding food safety standards.

This is not an entry-level position! We’re looking for someone with previous back-of-house experience in dishwashing or cooking, a strong work ethic, and the ability to lead by example.

Job Duties:

• Washes, dries & stocks all wares including pots, pans, flatware, and glasses.
• Correctly places and stores clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas.
• Stocks serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas with necessary dishes and utensils.
• Waste, compost & recycling management
• Cleans trash receptacles with water or steam.
• General and deep cleaning including all opening and closing sidewalk, daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
• Moves dishwashing supplies and equipment from storage to work areas.
• May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed.
• Ensures work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health safety and sanitation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

What we expect from you:

• Availability 1-4 nights a week starting between 2pm - 4pm until closing around 10pm-11pm.
• 2 + years of previous experience in a high-volume setting preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of walking or standing
• Must be able to lift, carry and place up to 60 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to work nights
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently
• Must frequently immerse hands in water
• Must be able to work in a warm & damp environment
