Since 1969, we’ve been serving Cheyenne and surrounding areas with exceptional workmanship and customer service. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Excavation Operator to join our team, supporting sewer service projects that involve the installation, maintenance, and repair of buried sewer, water, and gas utility lines.
Ideal candidates will hold a valid excavation equipment operator’s license, with OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a variety of heavy excavation equipment including backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, and other machines as needed.
Perform digging, trenching, and grading tasks in preparation for construction and site development.
Ensure precise and accurate excavation according to project plans and specifications.
Conduct daily pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
Maintain a high standard of safety by following all safety procedures and wearing proper protective equipment.
Work with project supervisors and site managers to ensure excavation work is completed efficiently and to specifications.
Communicate effectively with other crew members and contractors on site to coordinate work and ensure smooth operations.
Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report major repairs to maintenance personnel.
Assist in the loading and unloading of materials, as required.
Maintain and organize the work area to ensure a safe and clean environment.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times.
Requirements
Proven experience as an Excavation Operator or similar role in construction or related field.
Valid operator’s license for excavation equipment (e.g., Excavator, Backhoe, Dozer).
Certification in heavy equipment operation; OSHA 30 cert preferred
In-depth knowledge of excavation techniques and safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and other technical documents.
Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
Ability to operate equipment safely and effectively, even in challenging conditions.
Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks as required.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
High school diploma or equivalent; certification or training in excavation operations is a plus.
Previous experience working on large construction projects.
Familiarity with GPS and laser-guided excavation systems.
