HVAC Tech 3

The HVAC Tech 3 is responsible for manufacturing of Industrial HVAC Units under minimal to no supervision. This position will run conduit, wire panels, install electrical systems, braze, pipe, and test and troubleshoot units. This role is a good fit for someone with a strong technical background in HVAC, a strong understanding of custom environment standards and expectations, and the ability to work independently. This role will mentor junior level HVAC technicians, problems solve complex issues, and ensure that projects stay on schedule.

Job Duties:

• Champions safety in the workplace.
• Caulks units to ensure proper sealing without supervision.
• Wires HVAC units according to a schematic or blueprint without supervision.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints under without supervision.
• Connects refrigeration gauges with without supervision or direction.
• Conducts nitrogen purging independently.
• Braze and pipe HVAC units under without supervision.
• Able to prepare coils under without supervision, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Adds pipe supports and clamps independently and effectively.
• Performs pressure testing, vacuum pulling, oil addition, and refrigerant charging independently.
• Tests and trouble shoots HVAC equipment with minimal supervision.
• Ensures production stays on tracks for assigned units.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Assists the assembly department as needed.
• All other duties assigned.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in HVAC required
• 5 Years of Commercial Service HVAC experience.
• EPA Certification
• Able to read wiring and piping diagrams
• Background in HVAC controls, DDC, or BAS
• Brazing and piping experience
• Hands on experience with start up of Commercial HVAC units including setting gas pressures and trimming refrigerant
• Detail-oriented, ability to plan, organize, set priorities and manage multiple projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required
• Once fully trained, there is an opportunity to travel up to 10% for startup and service work
