Position Overview:

Fortis Property Management is seeking an experienced, customer-focused Leasing Consultant to join our team at 500 Fifth Apartments, a premier community in downtown Nashville. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multi-family leasing and a passion for creating exceptional resident experiences. Prior experience in a lease-up environment is strongly preferred.  This role plays a key part in connecting prospective residents with their new homes and ensuring a positive leasing experience from start to finish ! Your main focus as a leasing consultant here at 500 Fifth Apartments is to lease apartments while achieving the highest effective rent level. Executing leases triggers our competitive commission and bonus structure. Most importantly, our property management philosophy is maintaining strong customer service and resident satisfaction, which starts with each and every leasing consultant on the Fortis team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**)

You assist in your community's goal to effectively and efficiently lease the property, while also promoting excellence in resident care and service. You work alongside a team of leasing agents in the office and maintenance technicians, groundskeepers, and a maintenance supervisor on your property, all under the direction of your property/community manager. There, your contribution to the team is specifically: 

Key Responsibilities


Leasing & Resident Services

  • Conduct engaging tours for prospective residents, showcasing the property’s features and amenities
  • Promptly follow up on leads, inquiries, and applications to drive lease conversions
  • Accurately quote rental rates, availability, and leasing terms
  • Process all leasing paperwork including applications, credit and background screening, lease documents, and move-in coordination
  • Ensure all apartments are tour-ready and meet property standards prior to occupancy
  • Assist with the lease renewal process and promote long-term resident retention
  • Deliver excellent customer service, respond to resident concerns professionally and promptly
     

Marketing & Outreach

  • Support and implement marketing and outreach strategies to maximize occupancy 
  • Utilize technology and promotional tools to attract and convert qualified leads
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, competition, and property offerings
  • Contribute to weekly market surveys and provide insight to management
  • Ensure all necessary leasing documentation is complete and accurate
     

Administration & Team Support

  • Collaborate with the property team including the Community Manager and maintenance team
  • Assist with inspecting apartments for readiness and quality prior to move-ins
  • Adhere to all Fortis Property Management policies, Fair Housing regulations, and ADA compliance
  • Distribute move-in packets and ensure residents are well-informed at move-in
  • Maintain accurate records in property management and CRM systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the team and property goals
     

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in multi-family leasing 
  • Lease-up experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong sales and closing skills with a proven track record
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with strong decision-making skills
  • Proficient with property management software such as Yardi, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office
  • Customer-service driven with a professional image
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays
