 Job Title: Meat Cutter

Location: Retail Grocery Location

Farmer Joe’s Fresh Market is seeking a dynamic, proactive, and engaging individual to join our growing family! In this position associate’s responsibilities include packaging meat products, keeping store meat & seafood cases well stocked and clean during business hours. They are required to assist customers as needed and maintain a friendly, energetic demeanor.

Responsibilities:

- Maintains high standards for product guidelines in sanitation, freshness, trimming, and cutting.

- Cleans equipment.

- Cuts and prepares all varieties and cuts of meat while operating tools safely.

- Frequently inspects, rotates, and refills all full-service meat & seafood products to maintain excellent case presentation. Follow all Food Safety Handling rules.

- Prepare, slice, package, weigh and label meat and seafood products as needed, following proper packaging, and dating procedures.

- Follows proper standards for product freshness, food safety, weights and measures, refrigeration, and sanitation.

- Maintains a constant awareness of customer and employee safety. Ensures the department is kept clean and clear of excess carts, baskets, garbage, etc.

- Sustain a good level of product knowledge and product preparation.

- Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

- Demonstrates knowledge of business on the floor, backroom operations, product safety standards, sanitation guidelines, inventory management, and the operation, maintenance, and sanitization of equipment; preparing (for example, cutting, grinding, wrapping, trimming) meat products according to established standards; cutting boneless meat products; and maintaining product quality standards.

- High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate.

- Food Handling/Safety Certification- Preferred but not required.

- Customer Service Experience.

- Must be 18 years of age or older.

- Able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

- Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.

- Ability to understand and follow English instructions.

- Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
