Experienced Production Operations Specialist – Propulsion Manufacturing

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced Production Operations Specialist to support Propulsion Manufacturing in El Segundo, CA.

The Boeing El Segundo satellite factory manufactures, tests, and delivers component level and integrated satellite systems for both commercial and government customers.  Experienced Manufacturing Production Operation Specialist support all aspects of manufacturing and operations in the unit and subassembly areas of the factory.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Defines production activities and resolves problems of limited scope
  • Assists with the preparation and justification for major capital expenditures and equipment implementation
  • Leads projects and participates in research on proposed projects
  • Serves as primary interface with internal customers
  • Utilizes production engineering principles to analyze and implement manufacturing processes and methods that comply with company policies and procedures, improves production efficiency and optimizes product quality
  • Assists in conducting manpower and cost analyses
  • Represents operations on production related issues
  • Develops strategies to reduce product defects and production inefficiencies
  • Implements routine manufacturing processes and assists with the development of new or revised processes
  • Guides routine production activities and resolves problems of limited scope
  • Reviews and provides feedback on standard technical documents for edits or improvements
  • Guides others in complying with manpower requirements
  • Collects and interprets data
  • Assists in translating data into actionable plan
  • Reviews and validates corrective action plans

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working with propulsion systems to include but not limited to orbital welding, tube bending, and custom tooling set-up
  • Proficiency working with MESci and TeamCenter
  • Experience with CAD (3D modeling)
  • Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience in spacecraft manufacturing or aircraft hardware
