Silk's Steakhouse is looking for experienced, welcoming and genuine servers, that want to give that next level of service in hospitality. We are looking for candidates that add the wow factor to each and every guest. The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in the food and beverage industry with an understanding of wine and spirits. 


Server Job Responsibilities:

• Serves patrons with food and beverages in a positive and friendly manner.
• Provides information to help food and beverage selections.
• Presents ordered choices in a prompt and efficient manner.
• Maintains dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude.
• Prepares room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
• Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
• Helps patrons select food and beverages by suggesting courses, explaining the chef’s specialties, identifying appropriate beverage pairings, and answering food preparation questions.
• Transmits orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons’ choices and identifying patrons’ special dietary needs and special requests.
• Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression.
• Serves orders by picking up and delivering patrons’ choices from bar and kitchen and delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars.
• Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs and observing dining process.
• Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
• Concludes dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant and inviting patrons to return.
• Obtains revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, delivering bills and payments to host, and returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.

• Standing and Walking:
  Servers spend a significant portion of their shift on their feet, moving around the dining area, taking orders, and delivering food. 
• Lifting and Carrying:
  Servers regularly carry trays of food and drinks, which can weigh 25 pounds or more. They may also need to assist with setting up tables or carrying other heavy items. 
• Bending, Reaching, and Twisting:
  Servers frequently bend to pick up items, reach for drinks or food on shelves, and twist their bodies to serve customers at different locations. 
• Fine Motor Skills:
  Servers need to be able to handle utensils, place orders, and manage the cash register accurately. 
• Physical Stamina:
  Servers need to be able to maintain their energy and focus for long shifts, especially during peak hours. 
• Coordination and Balance:
  Servers need to be able to balance trays and move quickly and efficiently. 
• Visual Acuity:
  Servers need to be able to see well enough to read menus, identify customers, and navigate the dining area. 
• Hearing Acuity:
  Servers need to be able to hear customers clearly and communicate effectively. 
• Dexterity:
  Servers need to be able to use their hands and fingers to handle plates, cutlery, and other items.
