Automotive Service Technician Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance according to repair orders and dealership standards.


• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems, including:
  
  
  
  • Engine
  
  
  • Transmission
  
  
  • Electrical
  
  
  • Steering
  
  
  • Suspension
  
  
  • Braking systems
  
  
  • Air conditioning and HVAC
  
  
  
  


• Test-drive vehicles and perform diagnostic testing using manufacturer-approved equipment.


• Accurately diagnose vehicle concerns and recommend appropriate repairs.


• Communicate with Service Advisors regarding additional repairs, timelines, and recommendations.


• Complete warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.


• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.


• Stay current with manufacturer training and evolving vehicle technology.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an automotive technician, preferably in a dealership environment


• Lincoln or Ford experience is a plus, but not required


• High school diploma or equivalent


• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills


• Experience using electronic diagnostic equipment


• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities


• Basic computer proficiency


• Strong communication and customer service skills


• Positive attitude and strong work ethic


• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment


• Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset


• Willingness to continue technical education and manufacturer training


• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record


• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
