Fireplace & Chimney Authority, the Midwest's largest fireplace and chimney company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Chimney Brick Mason to join our growing team. As a Stone Mason, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the construction, repair, tuckpointing, and rebuilding of chimney structures.
Responsibilities:
- Measure and mark surfaces to be covered with stone
- Mix mortar and apply it to surfaces using hand or power tools
- Cut stones to size using a variety of tools
- Lay stones in patterns or designs according to plans or specifications
- Align structures using plumb lines, levels, and other tools
- Tuckpoint and rebuild chimney structures
- Clean and polish surfaces using a variety of techniques and tools
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
In addition to the above responsibilities, the Stone Mason may also be responsible for:
- Keeping accurate records of work performed
- Communicating with customers in a professional and courteous manner
- Providing estimates for repair and maintenance work
- Assisting with the marketing and promotion of our services
- Maintaining inventory of tools and equipment
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Stone Mason
- Strong knowledge stone laying techniques and tools
- Experience with tuckpointing and rebuilding chimney structures
- Good communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work at heights and lift heavy objects
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
