FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Rate: $25 - $27/hr. 

St. Patrick Catholic School is seeking a creative and energetic Extended Care Director to fulfill the mission of the school by coordinating the Extended Care program. The Extended Care Director is responsible for providing an appropriately safe, caring and enriching environment for the children enrolled in the program. The Extended Care Director assists with the needs of students and supports learning by creating an atmosphere where students can complete homework and/or participate in age-appropriate physical activities

Duties and Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with students, parents, and extended care staff 
• Works with Registrar with updates on school and extended care schedules and student enrollment 
• Monitors and assists individual students in groups to support program activities 
• Supervises students at all times, maintaining a consistent headcount of all children present 
• Complies with security procedures, including attendance, pick-up, and emergency procedures to ensure the children’s safety, and participates in safety trainings offered by the school 
• Works in a team environment and encourages open communication regarding concerns/issues with children, parents and co-workers. 
• Maintains communication with classroom teachers as needed. 
• Ensures that all staff and children are respectful of school property; ensures all school rules are followed 
• Recruits, manages, and schedules a staff of 5 to 7 extended care supervisors 
• Collaborates with school staff to enhance the work environment and support program effectiveness 
• Assists in maintaining facilities used by the program including storage of equipment and cleanup 
• Maintains all supplies, equipment, materials and plan and direct activities of the Extended Care program, including weekly grocery shopping for student snacks 
• Possesses proficient technology skills appropriate to the job, including use of school devices and programs 
• Keep within monthly budget for purchases
• Other duties as assigned 

Requirements

Religious Qualifications

• Active, practicing Roman Catholic (preferred)
• Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy

Professional Qualifications

• Certification in child first aid and CPR required by August (reimbursed by school) 
• At least two years of relevant experience in an educational or childcare setting 
• Strong communication skills 
• Friendly with excellent people skills 
• Portrays a professional demeanor 
• Self-directed 
• Great attention to detail 
• Performs standard word processing and google suite programs 

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to remain outdoors with students, on their feet, standing close to supervise and mediate indoor and outdoor games and activities. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the outdoor space, indoor space, and office. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within the local community to purchase and restock student snacks. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. The employee may be called upon to render first aid to students as needed.
