Fabrication & Plant Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Fabrication & Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day manufacturing operations, production, and managing plant and assembly personnel. This role requires leadership and training skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage production staff to ensure smooth operation of the production line.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Employee must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, as outlined below.

· Supervise and coordinate all fabrication and production activities including but not limited to; managing incoming requests for all regions, responding in a timely manner and follow up once shipment is ready.

· Oversee packaging and shipping of finished products.

· Ensure that production targets are met on time and within budget.

· Perform facilities maintenance and repair activities as needed.

· Partners with Procurement on purchasing and maintaining parts inventory. 

· Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

· Coordinates work assignments with the Logistics and Field Service Departments that included production, training, technical support and/or process/trouble shooting support. 

· Handling, transporting, moving, adding and mixing liquid and dry hazardous chemicals. 

· Loads and unloads blenders, drums, tanks, totes, trucks and railcars by connecting and disconnecting hoses with valves, and operating load-out pumps. 

· Operates packaging equipment, including but not limited to box taper, filling and lidding machine, stretch wrapper and glue machine. 

· Reviews formulation orders for accuracy upon receipt and completion, then completes and signs required paperwork. 

· Ensures that products meet the quality and production standards by collecting and preparing chemical mixture samples for quality analysis using laboratory equipment. 

· Reviews daily production schedules and takes proactive measures to ensure timely completion, including alerting manager to need for schedule or staffing adjustments. 

· Track and record inventory of all products. 

· Inspects and repairs production equipment for operability and notifies supervisor of corrective actions needed to ensure scheduled products are formulated on time. 

· The supervision, training, and development of employees in all aspects of the job, including situational responses and actions.

· Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs.

This position is a safety-sensitive position and requires the employee to follow all Specialty Sales LLC safety policies and operating procedures. 

Requirements

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:   

1. Provide evidence of   employment eligibility acceptable to state and federal standards.

2. Must be at least 18 years   old. 

3. Requires a high school diploma/GED

4. Prefer three years’   experience working in a chemical environment or three years’ manufacturing   experience

5. Prefer working knowledge in   batch making process.

6. Able to pass pre-employment   and annual screenings as appropriate for the position.

Required Skills   and Abilities:

1. Minimum one year forklift   experience required with proof of certification and proficiency in forklift   operation.

2. Ability to lift 55lbs with   or without assistance.

3. Must maintain a valid   driver’s license, in the state of residence, and a safe driving record   meeting the company’s vehicle policy and insurability standards.
