Job Description:

The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all machinery and equipment operate efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of industrial machines, including but not limited to the AccurPress brake, AccurShear shear, Horn tube bender, Salvagnini S4, and Salvagnini P4. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical skills, hands-on experience with industrial equipment, and solid computer proficiency to support modern troubleshooting and diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:

Preventive Maintenance

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify wear, damage, or malfunction.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance to prevent unexpected breakdowns.

Troubleshooting and Repairs

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Repair or replace faulty components on various machines including press brakes, shears, tube benders, and Salvagnini systems.
  • Interface with manufacturers and service departments to order parts or schedule service.

Installation and Upgrades

  • Install new machinery and equipment per specifications.
  • Conduct Job Safety Analyses before releasing equipment into production.
  • Implement system upgrades or modifications to improve performance.

Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Log changes to equipment configurations or settings.

Safety Compliance

  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
  • Regularly use Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Collaboration

  • Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to prioritize tasks.
  • Communicate equipment status and maintenance needs clearly and effectively.

Training

  • Stay current on new technologies and equipment advancements.
  • Train other staff on equipment use and basic troubleshooting.
  • Learn to operate all equipment to enable repairs when operators are unavailable.

Emergency Response

  • Respond quickly to urgent maintenance issues to minimize production delays.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve emergencies.

Equipment Testing

  • Conduct performance tests to ensure machines meet quality and efficiency standards.
  • Recommend improvements based on test results.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies.
  • Coordinate with procurement for timely restocking.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in initiatives to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Offer feedback for process and system optimization.

Requirements

Qualifications:

3–10 years of experience maintaining industrial machinery.

Experience with press brakes, shears, tube benders, and punching machines preferred.

Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.

Proficient with computers and diagnostic tools.

Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged standing and walking in production areas.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.

Frequent bending, stretching, pushing, and pulling.

Exposure to outdoor elements as needed.
