Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Facilities & Maintenance Manager to oversee all aspects of maintenance and facility operations for our hotel/ranch property. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and appearance of all buildings, grounds, mechanical systems, pools, and water systems. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent time management skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic hospitality environment.
Position Responsibilities Facility & Property Maintenance
Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance of all buildings, guest accommodations, barns, common areas, and back-of-house facilities
Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, irrigation, and mechanical systems
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations
Maintain property grounds, roads, fencing, landscaping, and exterior structures
Respond promptly to emergency repair situations
Perform other duties as assigned
Pool & Water Systems
Operate and maintain pool systems in compliance with health regulations
Maintain appropriate chemical levels and safety standards
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred
Oversee water treatment systems; Water Plant Grade C License preferred or ability to obtain
Leadership & Team Management
Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance staff
Assign daily tasks and manage workflow efficiently
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork
Assist Sorrel River Ranch operations during times of need, staffing shortages, or transitions by working in various roles, completing training, and/or providing additional capacity on the ground when needed
Coordinate with housekeeping, front desk, ranch operations, and management
Planning & Budgeting
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs
Manage maintenance budgets and track expenses
Source and negotiate with vendors and contractors
Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies
Safety & Compliance
Conduct regular safety inspections
Ensure OSHA and local regulatory compliance
Maintain documentation for inspections, permits, and licensing
Implement emergency preparedness procedures
Required Qualifications
3+ years of facilities or maintenance management experience (hotel, resort, ranch, or similar property preferred)
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
Proven leadership and supervisory experience
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification (or the ability to obtain)
Water Plant Grade C License (or ability to obtain)
Experience with property management systems and maintenance tracking software
Experience in hospitality, resort, or ranch operations
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50+ pounds
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and perform physical repairs
