Position Summary
The Facilities and Materials Manager is responsible for leading the warehouse, procurement, receiving, and facilities maintenance operations functions - ensuring a streamlined, compliant, and data-driven environment. This includes overseeing inventory, preventative maintenance, vendor qualification, stock organization, and readiness to support pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance.
This position ensures that all materials are sourced efficiently, vendor partnerships are optimized, and material transfers between facilities operate safely and efficiently. A successful Facilities and Materials Manager at Akina is an organized, detail-driven leader who ensures that stock levels are maintained, all activities meet regulatory compliance, and procurement processes align with operational needs. - Materials Sourcing, Procurement & Cost Management
- Execute materials sourcing strategy, purchasing execution, and cost management in alignment with regulatory requirements and Akina SOPs.
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new materials, vendors, and purchasing processes.
- Monitor material usage and purchasing trends to support forecasting, reduce waste, and ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Vendor Coordination, Contracts & Relationship Management
- Oversee qualification-submission, oversight, and performance management of all vendors supporting materials, facilities, equipment, and services.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Coordinate external vendors for facility maintenance, calibrations, certifications, validations, and preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and responsiveness.
- Inventory Accuracy, Materials Flow & Warehouse Operations
- Ensure accurate inventory records and system integrity for tracking, usage, ordering, and waste.
- Design and maintain compliant workflows for receiving, storage, internal transfers, and inventory reconciliation.
- Maintain clean, organized, and inspection-ready warehouse and storage environments aligned with FIFO/FEFO and regulatory expectations.
- Facilities Maintenance, Compliance & Operational Readiness
- Ensure facilities, utilities, and equipment are properly maintained, functional, and compliant at all times.
- Oversee preventative maintenance schedules, service coordination, and documentation in partnership with Quality.
- Maintain continuous inspection readiness and support uninterrupted production, dispensing, and quality operations.
We train our team to help them succeed, and everyone on our team helps with our success. In this role, you’ll be accountable for hitting the following numbers:
- Maintain a stockout rate of 0% for all stocked materials (100-200 material SKUs)
- Maintain 0% downtime for active facilities and critical equipment systems
- Ensure SOPs, Job Aids are available for all processes related to facilities management, purchasing, receiving, and inventory.
- Ensure 100% SDS documentation, proper chemical labeling, and expired material removal (monthly reviews)

Experience and Qualifications
- Experience in Purchasing, Inventory, or Warehouse Operations
- At least 1 year of experience in a purchasing, inventory management, or warehouse role, or the ability to learn and execute detailed receiving procedures efficiently.
- Attention to Detail and Accuracy:
- Proven ability to inspect, verify, and document received shipments with precision while following detailed company protocols.
- Physical Capability and Stamina:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift packages weighing up to 50lbs as part of daily responsibilities.
- Commitment to Quality and Efficiency:
- Demonstrated understanding of how inventory accuracy impacts company operations and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
