Job Description - Facilities & Receiving Technician (Evening)

Description

SUMMARY STATEMENT & PURPOSE: This position is responsible for overall facility maintenance, trouble shooting and either fixing heating, electrical, and plumbing systems, or coordinating repair services with external vendors. Responsible for routine maintenance on facility equipment, safety and sanitation related tasks, and light carpentry duties. Travel between facilities and vendor locations required. Will require some night and weekend work. This position will also require supporting the purchasing team with receiving, stocking, custody, and inventory disbursement coverage. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

Facility Maintenance and Repairs

  • Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of heating, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, including light carpentry and general upkeep.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for major repairs and maintenance services, ensuring timely resolution of issues.

Equipment Maintenance and Safety

  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on facility equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform safety-related tasks, including maintaining sanitation standards and addressing potential hazards.
  • Assist in maintaining facility safety protocols and responding to emergencies as needed.

Receiving and Inventory Support

  • Assist the purchasing team with receiving, inspecting, and documenting deliveries of goods and equipment.
  • Stock and organize inventory in designated areas, ensuring accurate tracking and custody of items.
  • Support inventory disbursement processes, maintaining records and tracking inventory levels.

Facility Oversight and Vendor Coordination

  • Oversee the cleanliness and general condition of facilities, ensuring they meet organizational standards.
  • Liaise with vendors for facility-related services and supplies, ensuring agreements and timelines are met.

Travel and Scheduling Flexibility

  • Travel between facilities and vendor locations is required to perform duties and ensure seamless operations.
  • Be available for occasional night and weekend work to address urgent facility needs or support events.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and inventory transactions.
  • Report facility issues, equipment malfunctions, and inventory discrepancies to the appropriate parties in a timely manner.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid WA driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Facilities/Maintenance related training and/or experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year related training and/or experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to learn other software programs as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Inventory systems software experience preferred.

  • This position is exposed during a shift to constant or intermittent sounds at a moderate level; stressful situations at a medium to high level; atmospheric exposures including dusts, fumes, vapors, or mists that could affect the occupational health of the employee as well as bloodborne pathogens.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, lift, pull/push, carry, grasp, reach, stoop/crouch, talk, and hear. Frequently required to sit. Occasionally required to climb or crawl.  
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move a minimum of 25 pounds, and up to 60 pounds at times. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; ability to clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
