Facilities & Tools Technician

Position Overview:

The Facilities and Tools Technician supports all divisions by maintaining and repairing company-owned small tools and rolling stock equipment, as well as coordinating pickup and delivery logistics. This position is also responsible for organizing and managing the RES yard, including rolling stock, trench boxes, and related assets. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, excellent organizational skills, and professional communication with construction teams and vendors.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on small tools and rolling stock assets.


• Perform Inbound and Outbound inspections on all company assets.


• Ensure tools and equipment are stored in designated areas and accurately tracked.


• Support the Facility & Tools Manager with scheduling, pickups, deliveries, and general logistics.


• Identify rolling stock repair needs and communicate findings to the Facility & Tools Manager for verification.


• Maintain yard areas to promote organization, efficiency, and safety.


• Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. 1–3 months of relevant experience or equivalent training preferred. Welding certification preferred. Certification to operate wheel loader, forklift and or lull a plus! Valid Driver’s license required.

Required Experience:

• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with small tool repairs.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills.


• Ability to read and follow instructions, diagrams, and memos.


• Solid time-management skills and strong attention to detail.

Physical Demands/ Work Environment:

• Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, climbing, and handling of equipment.


• Must be able to lift/move items over 50 lbs. occasionally.


• Work environment includes exposure to mechanical parts, outdoor weather, fumes, loud noise, and occasional risk of electrical shock or vibration.

Supervisory Skills: This position does not supervise others.
