We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Facilities Assistant to help keep our buildings clean, safe, organized, and running smoothly. The Facilities Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and upkeep of our two locations while also assisting with general maintenance needs.
Merrick, Inc. Offers:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm set schedule.

Facilities Assistant Responsibilities
Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum offices, hallways, breakrooms, meeting rooms, and work areas.
Clean and disinfect surfaces, windows, doors, restrooms, and common areas.
Empty waste and recycling and ensure materials are disposed of appropriately.
Restock soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, toilet paper, and other supplies.
Monitor cleaning supplies and help receive, stock, and distribute supplies between locations.
Assist with maintaining outdoor areas and picking up debris.
Move office furniture and equipment within and between buildings as needed.
Assist with general maintenance projects at both Merrick locations.
Communicate with outside vendors as needed.
Safely use cleaning products and equipment and follow applicable safety procedures.
Facilities Assistant Qualifications
High school diploma.
6–12 months of janitorial, custodial, or related experience preferred.
Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products.
Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
Willingness to learn and assist with a variety of cleaning and maintenance needs.
Basic ability to use electronic devices, databases, and internet-based applications.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and pushing or pulling equipment and materials.
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening following a conditional job offer.
