This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level or apprentice-style candidate who is eager to build a career in facilities, maintenance, or biotech operations while learning in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
At SBS, our Facilities team plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, functionality, cleanliness, and operational readiness of our labs, warehouse, production, and office spaces. In this role, you will work closely with the Facilities leadership team to support routine maintenance activities, inspections, work orders, equipment checks, and general facility upkeep.
If you are dependable, mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and take pride in supporting a high-quality operation, we encourage you to apply.
What You Will Do
As a Facilities Associate I, you will support daily facility operations and assist in maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant work environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with routine facility operations, including monitoring building conditions, equipment status, and general facility functionality.

  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as inspections, minor repairs, filter changes, equipment checks, and general facility upkeep under the guidance of senior facilities staff.

  • Support preventive maintenance activities and help ensure that assigned tasks are completed on time and documented properly.

  • Assist with work orders, maintenance logs, and facility documentation, including data entry into CMMS or related tracking systems.

  • Help maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready facility spaces in alignment with company procedures and GMP expectations.

  • Respond to facility-related requests from internal departments, including Operations, Quality, Warehouse, and other support teams, in a timely and professional manner.

  • Support contractor visits, service appointments, equipment installations, and vendor maintenance activities as needed.

  • Assist with basic warehouse or utility-related tasks such as moving materials, setting up equipment, organizing storage areas, and supporting site readiness.

  • Participate in safety walkthroughs, inspections, and routine facility rounds; identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or compliance issues promptly.

  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies while performing assigned tasks.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and escalate maintenance or facility issues when appropriate.

  • Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement across the facility.

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is reliable, proactive, and interested in growing within facilities and maintenance operations.
Minimum Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, warehouse, manufacturing, or building support preferred.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort performing hands-on tasks in a facility or operational setting.

  • Ability to follow instructions, SOPs, work orders, and safety procedures with attention to detail.

  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and technical skills.

  • Ability to work independently on routine tasks while also collaborating effectively with the team.

  • Good communication skills and a professional, service-oriented attitude.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing ladders, and moving materials throughout the shift.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical, GMP, warehouse, manufacturing, or regulated environment.

  • Familiarity with basic building maintenance, utilities, HVAC support, equipment monitoring, or facility upkeep.

  • Exposure to CMMS systems, maintenance tracking, inventory tools, or service documentation.

  • OSHA 10 certification, trade school coursework, or basic electrical/mechanical training is a plus.
