Facility Associate / Safety Manager / Men’s Ministry Director job description 


The Facilities Associate/Safety Manager/Men’s Ministry Director possesses multiple roles with multiple responsibilities. 


As Facilities Associate, you will work alongside the Facility Manager and/or Pastor of Operations & Finance to help the facilities department perform all facility related needs for the church as part of your ministry for the Lord.  


As Safety Manager, your focus will be on the continued development and execution of safety measures on campus, including OSHA compliance, for the protection of staff, church members, guests, youth & children, vendors, personal property, vehicles, tools, hardware & equipment.


As Men’s Ministry Director, you will manage the operations of all Men’s Ministry efforts, providing equipping, training, and administrative support.



QUALIFICATIONS



 Facility Operations



  • Knowledge of general construction and repairs

  • Ability to learn HVAC Systems and controls

  • Knowledge of Plumbing & Electrical

  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.


Safety and Security



  • Experience in facility safety operations & safety best practices

  • Experience with Security Systems

  • OSHA certification preferred but not required

RESPONSIBILITIES


 


Champion the Discipleship Movement at The Heights



  • Is personally participating in a discipling relationship over the course of the summer.

  • Fully understand and embrace the Heights discipleship process and related timelines and objectives.

  • Regularly advocate for disciple making (DM) opportunities to be integrated into Church activities.


 


Facilities Associate – 30% of your time (fluctuates based on competing priorities)


Under the leadership of the Facilities Manager, assist with various facility maintenance and repairs of buildings & grounds including general repairs, church property, vehicles, tools & equipment, construction, plumbing, electrical, irrigation, landscaping, HVAC, periodic setup and/or tear down for various ministry related purposes.



  • Perform a wide variety of general building maintenance repairs, setups, cleaning and services.

  • Assist with various tasks such as plumbing, electrical (120v-480v), mechanical, and additional duties as required.

  • Assists plumbing functions such as installing and repairing flush units for urinals and toilets, flush valves faucets leaks, clogged drains and sewers, repair sinks and commodes, etc.

  • Complete repair and evaluations on various HVAC systems

  • Repair/replace various type/style of lighting

  • Maintain/repair building ventilation equipment

  • Assist with setups when necessary

  • Assist with cleaning when necessary


 


Safety Manager - 20% of your time (fluctuates based on competing priorities)


Under the leadership of the Pastor of Operations & Finance, partner with the Facility Manager and others on Safety Matters.



  • Work alongside the Pastor of Operations & Finance and/or each Ministry Department Head to maintain a knowledge of each department’s emergency plan and practice schedules. The Safety Manager is principally responsible for ensuring the constant presence of some form of safety personnel is available on church radio any time the building is in use for childcare, day camps, Sunday and Wednesday activities, other larger activities and larger special events. Continually develop, improve and execute emergency action plans, campus target hardening, security cameras, scheduling and managing Sunday morning police officers and private security officers, safety team, medical volunteers, phone app safety software and other safety related products, development of staff safety training.

  • Work alongside Ministry Leaders to maintain a knowledge of each department’s emergency plan and practice schedules. You are responsible for ensuring the constant presence of some form of safety personnel is available on church radio any time the building is in use for childcare, day camps, Sunday and Wednesday activities, other larger activities and larger special events.

  • Work alongside the I.T. Director and I.T. staff regarding cyber security, electronic data and equipment protection.

  • Work alongside the Facility Manager and the I.T. Director to program access software, issue, manage, and adjust key fobs and distribute physical keys to all campuses.

  • Work alongside the Facility Manager regarding all fire alarm equipment and fire marshal inspections, elevator safety including annual safety inspections and boiler safety inspections and other equipment safety inspections including fire dampers.

  • Work alongside various staff to request permits from the Richardson fire marshal office whenever needed for special events that require permits such as inflatables or other event structures or equipment.



Men’s Ministry Director – 50% of your time (fluctuates based on competing priorities) 


Under the leadership of the Executive Pastor of Ministries, develop and manage the operations of all Men’s Ministry efforts, providing equipping, training, and administrative support.  Make sure events are up to date in the church calendar and communicated well to church members and staff.  Get to know church members. Find out how God has uniquely gifted our members and recruit volunteers appropriate for needed areas. Share stories and celebrate what God is doing through Guest Connections. Champion a team culture of unity and positivity.

RELATIONSHIPS



Executive Pastor of Operations


This person directly reports to the Executive Pastor of Ministries. You will receive equipping and encouragement from the Executive Pastor of Ministries to better operate out of your calling, while you both strive to champion each other above yourselves.


Executive Pastor of Ministries


This person will interact with the Executive Pastor of Operations.


Pastor of Operations & Finance


This person will have a fair amount of interaction with the Pastor of Operations & Finance on operations, facilities, safety and business office matters.


Facility Manager


This person will work with the Facility Manager on a daily basis regarding all facilities matters.


Scheduling Director


This person will interact with the Scheduling Director for event schedules, room reservations and setups.


The Heights Staff: Collaborate with other members of The Heights staff, serve as a resource and encouragement to them, and partners with them effectively to achieve maximum kingdom impact.


The Groups Team: This person is a trusted member of the Groups Team and frequently collaborates with other members of the team.
