The NC Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) is the state government agency created to conserve and sustain the state’s fish and wildlife resources through research, scientific management, wise use and public input. The NCWRC is the regulatory agency responsible for the enforcement of North Carolina’s fishing, hunting, trapping, and boating laws. The agency has an operational budget of approximately $100 million and employs approximately 700 full-time staff and 100 seasonal temporary staff across the state, including wildlife and fisheries biologists and technicians, wildlife law enforcement officers, wildlife educators, communication specialists, and customer service, information technology and administrative professionals. The NCWRC Mission is to conserve North Carolina’s wildlife resources and their habitats and provide programs and opportunities that allow hunters, anglers, boaters, and other outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy wildlife-associated recreation.
Description of Work
The primary purpose of the Engineering Services Division is to direct, plan and manage all engineering related projects for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. Primary programs include in house design, permitting,Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
RECRUITMENT RANGE: $61,545 - $107,703

Special Requirement:
•Employee shall be a licensed Professional Engineer or an EIT working to obtain their PE (required within 6 months of employment by WRC).
Additional Requirements:
• All offers of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of pre- and post-employment evaluations.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience;
or
an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Qualification
May require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
