Job Description - Facilities Coordinator

Maine Family Planning is seeking a full-time Facilites Coordinator. This position is five days a week.  The Facilites Coordinator will assist the Facilities Manager in supporting state-wide activities related to facilities maintenance, custodial services, and safety/security issues for MFP sites, including rental offices.  The candidate will train at our Augusta office but may be permanently located in another location based on where they reside.  Travel is required for this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit (including prolonged sitting), and talk or hear.  The employee is also required to use hands and fingers to operate a standard computer keyboard, use a computer, mouse, fax machine, printer and copier, and speak and hear using a telephone.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. 




Qualifications Needed for Position:


Experience and Skill Requirements: The following experience and skills are considered essential:



  • Ability to frequently perform duties with little or no supervision.

  • Professional demeanor with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively with staff and visitors.

  • Knowledge of building maintenance and repair methods and requirements.

  • Read and interpret plans and specifications and cost estimates from vendors.

  • 1-2 years of facilities operations, facilities maintenance or related experience

  • Think analytically to respond to complex inquiries.

  • A basic understanding of building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, and life safety and security is essential.

  • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Computer experience.



Education and Knowledge Requirements: The following education requirements are considered essential:



  • Highschool diploma/GED required.
