Facilities Cost Estimator

• Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for facility renovation, sustainment, and modernization projects
• Present estimates to managers, clients, or other interested parties
• Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
• Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
• Prepare reports or bids that detail the cost breakdown
• Estimate the cost of equipment or materials to be bought or leased
• Adjust estimates based on changing market conditions, price fluctuations, and other economic factors
• Keep track of the latest industry trends and pricing to ensure accurate and competitive pricing
• Utilize software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting, and project management
• Verify subcontractor quote submissions
• Read and interpret blueprints, design plans, and specifications
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Training: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering, finance, or construction management required
• Professional certification in cost estimation or project management preferred 

Experience:

• 8+ years of professional experience in the required task area
• Proficiency in RSMeans (or similar) and MS Office required

Security:

• Must be a US citizen

• Candidate must be in possession of a minimum DoD issued Secret Clearance

Physical Requirements:

• Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
• Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
• Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
• Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

Salary: $70,000 - 90,000
